Join us for a two-part session on “The Climate Crisis and Interconnections: A Dialogue on Waking Up and Next Steps”

Part 1. Waking Up (Environment, War, Autocracy).
Part 2. Next Steps (Thinking Across Silos, Going Deep)

These two, 90-minute sessions will include a panel of sustainability experts and activists from Fielding and within climate-focused organizations such as the The Elders Climate Action Network, Transition Towns, A Growing Culture, and The Post Carbon Institute, etc. The two sessions will present a modelling of Bohm-inspired Dialogue between 10+ panelists, thought leaders and activists from different climate organizations;  followed by break-out groups in which participants will experience Dialogue for themselves.

On both days the panelists will dialogue among themselves on the interconnections between our climate crisis, war and dependence on fossil fuels, the rise of autocracy & the retreat of democracy and statis of our ability to communicate across about these issues across social sectors. The sessions will be moderated in the manner of Dialogue based on the work of David Bohm.

During the following break-out sessions, the panelists and participants will Dialogue together in addressing next steps in these existential crises and how the practice of Dialogue itself can foster  further integration needed among those dealing with these interconnected issues.

The Organization Development Network (ODN)

Linda presented a session on June 3rd, 2021 with two colleagues on how the culture was changed at the Virginia Department of Corrections (VADOC) using Dialogue. Harold Clarke, the Director, tells his story of how he transformed a very fragmented culture of VADOC into a healing environment for staff and the 30,00 inmate population they house. It is a true, break-through story for the profession of organization development combining visionary leadership with Bohm-inspired Dialogue to sustain and integrate the vision – becoming embedded into the culture.
